The Wonderful World of Roller Balls

The Wonderful World of Roller Balls

Have you ever heard about roller balls? They are a fantastic way to utilize your essential oils in a way that combines various single or blends of oils together in one bottle, prediluted for your needs.  If you peek on Pinterest, you will find tons of ideas to get you started.

My youngest daughter was having a hard time concentrating on her math. Boy, do I get that! So, I grabbed an empty roller ball, added a few drops of oil, filled the rest up with a carrier oil (any quality fatty oil will do: fractionated coconut oil, sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil, jojoba oil… you get the idea), and she was armed and ready to tackle her school work. She came back upstairs a little while later beaming at her accomplishment.

Roller balls can be used to conquer all sorts of normal daily situations: occasional seasonal difficulties, head tension, sleepless nights… Just put a few drops in a bottle and you are all set to go.

Label your bottles with your personal label maker or use washi tape to make it unique to you so you know it’s yours. You can even notate on the tape what you’ve got in the bottle.

I have put together a few recipes to get you started. Let me know if you try any of them. I’d also love to hear your experience with different recipes you have tried.

Roller ball recipes using Young Living essential oils

If you are looking for places to purchase roller ball bottles, you can find them on or other websites with a quick search. I do recommend getting roller ball bottles with stainless steal balls rather than the plastic ones. The plastic ones tend to leak more often as they can break down more easily. Another option is repurposing empty essential oil bottles by using one of the roller ball fitments available through Young Living. They are inexpensive, and it is a great way to reuse your old bottles. Just make sure to clean them well, remove the old labels, and you are set.
